Truthful Tuesday
Let's just call it Truthful Tuesday today....
Did you know that
you could lose more weight and maintain a steady body function if you
just ate more fibrous foods? Now, exactly what kind of fibrous foods are
you talking about, Soph... and how would THAT help Me? What if I don't
like that kind of food or I just don't get enough of it on a daily
Basis?? Read this:
Soluble fiber dissolves in water. Insoluble fiber doesn’t.
Insoluble fibers prevent constipationl. Whole grain foods, dark leafy
vegetables, fruit, nuts and seeds all contain insoluble fiber.
Soluble fiber, on the other hand, creates a gel-like texture in your gut
when mixed with liquid in your digestive tract. This gel helps slow
down your digestion. You’ll feel fuller longer, which is one reason why
fiber can help you maintain a healthy weight. Soluble fiber also
attaches itself to particles of cholesterol. As the soluble fiber passes
through the body, it takes the particles with it, reducing overall
cholesterol levels as well as the risk of heart disease.
You can
find soluble fiber in onions, bananas, oats, apples, strawberries, and
certain vegetables. These foods help the healthy bacteria that live in
the gut reproduce, as they stifle the production of bad, disease-causing
bacteria.
Fact: Most Americans don’t eat enough of either fiber.
Recommended amounts are 25 and 35 total grams per day. The average
intake is about 15 grams per day. Today’s typical diet is full of
high-fat, high-calorie PROCESSED foods.
If you dread the idea of
eating a few cups of raw onion and canned mushrooms every day, there is
an alternative! Prebiotic fiber, it contains all of the daily fiber
you’ll need.
Its so funny that Shakeology has ProBiotics AND
PreBiotics in it, isn't it?? Yet ANOTHER added benefit for those that
don't like their fibrous foods!! Hate Veggies? Drink Shakeology. But do
something about your health because the older we get, the more your body
asks for. Treat it right... its the only body you'll ever live in. If
its happy, YOU'RE happy
